Jaylen Coleman (6-foot-2, 200-pounds) led his Porter Ridge Pirates to a 56-35 win over Cuthbertson on his record-setting night in which the senior running back rushed for 349 yards on 19 carries and scored four touchdowns.
Coleman's rushing yards, the most in school history also place him third all-time in the county for rushing yards in one game.
The Porter Ridge offense accounted for 705 total offensive yards (617 yds rushing, 88 yds passing) in their road defeat of the Cavaliers. The Pirates backfield of QB Grayson McCall and RB's Coleman and Malcolm Hines scored all eight Pirate touchdowns.
In the loss, Cuthbertson's Chris Panko (6-foot, 180-pounds) had a standout night. The senior LB led all defensive players with 18 total tackles including three for a loss.
Next week, Porter Ridge (1-0) will host Piedmont (0-1) while Jay M. Robinson (0-1) travels to Cuthbertson (0-1).
