Sun Valley’s 2017 football season came to an end on Friday night losing to A.C. Reynolds, 28-25 in the 3AA West Regional Championship game.

Sun Valley finished the season at 11-4 playing deeper in the football postseason than any previous team in school history.

It was a thrilling high school football game that resulted in a heartbreaking loss for the Spartans.

Sun Valley came out hot, executing on offense and defense and went into halftime, 19-10.

In the second half, it was A.C. Reynolds who came out executing and outscoring Sun Valley, 18-6 to take their first regional championship since 2009.

Below, the 3AA West Regional Championship game highlights.

*Note- I could not use the video of the controversial 2-point conversion attempt by Sam Howell. I positioned myself two-feet away from the pylon and given the play call; my position was perilous. To preserve my health and left leg, I had to pivot away from the shot to avoid full impact.
