The Weddington Warriors made a solid run in the 4A Football State Playoffs, scoring over 120 points through 4 rounds. Weddington met the eventual 4A State Champion Runner-up, Chambers, in the quarter-finals, falling 45-14.
Women's 4A: Cuthbertson grabbed the school’s 4th straight team State Championship, winning their first 4A crown after three straight wins at the 3A level. Cross-county rivals, Weddington claimed 2nd. Women’s Sportsmanship Awards went to Samantha Hoover from Cuthbertson and Emma Jones from Weddington.
Men's 4A: Porter Ridge's Jacob Laney took 2nd place in individual with a time of 15:34:33. The Weddington Warriors took 2nd place overall and Gavin Boutwell of Weddington took home the Sportsmanship Award
Marvin Ridge claims the Dual Team 4A State Championship again in 2021, giving the Mavericks their third dual-team championship in school history and its first when competing in Class 4A.

Marvin Ridge sisters, Avery & Reese Sager win the Doubles 4A Title and Reese was named her team's MVP for the tournament.

Field hockey is an unsanctioned sport in NC but sees a lot of action thanks to the North Carolina Field Hockey Association who provides and organizes a league for teams across the state to compete for the state championship.
In 2021, Weddington & Marvin Ridge from UCPS fielded teams and competed in the state championship playoffs.
