The 2019 high school football season officially ended last month, but it shouldn't surprise anyone that two of the most dynamic football players in the history of this county didn't get the message.
One of the players is coming off a historic campaign. Weddington's Will Shipley helped lead his team to its second consecutive 3AA state title behind his 2066 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns. Shipley also won NC's Gatorade Player of the Year.
The other player, former Metrolina Christian running back, Ishod Finger, Union County's all-time single-season rushing leader. Finger recently entered the transfer portal leaving the Charlotte 49ers for Bryant University.
Two players at two different stages of their football career, but both continue to grind, never settling, always looking to get better.
I ran into both last week at Roe Pro Fitness & Athletics. Check out the short clip of their workout.
