The 8th grade Yellow Jackets defeated the Pirates, 30-8 on Saturday afternoon.  In the process, the Jackets showed me why they are one of three 8th grade teams, (Holy Trinity and Marvin Ridge are the other two), still undefeated on the season.

After seeing the Jackets first hand on Saturday, one cannot come away without being impressed by their speed and athletic prowess on both sides of the ball.

Offensively they have game-breakers that can run and catch the ball. On defense, all players swarm the ball carrier and do a good job tackling.

The Jackets are a very close second to Holy Trinity in offensive output with Trinity scoring on average 1.2 points per game better than the boys in black and yellow.

Defensively the Yellow Jackets are second to Marvin Ridge yielding just 11 points per game to opposing offenses.

As the middle-school season enters the final four weeks of regular season play, it's easy to see why so many folks are excited about the postseason prospects for the Jackets.

Below, game highlights between Porter Ridge and Forest Hills.
