Porter Ridge defeated Piedmont, 42-0 on Friday night.
It was an impressive display of a Pirate defense that limited Piedmont to 95 yards of offense and five first downs. Porter Ridge recorded three sacks and one interception, returned for a touchdown. Senior linebacker, Connor Henderson, led the team with ten total tackles.
Offensively, the Pirates ran the ball 30 times for 319 yards.
Junior Brandon Perry led all rushers with 96 yards on five carries and two touchdowns. Perry also registered one of those defensive sacks and the one interception that he returned 58-yards for a TD.
Senior running back Alex Chapman scored on a nice run up the middle for 45 yards in the first quarter.
Porter Ridge (1-1) will now take on long-time rival Sun Valley (1-2) a team they haven't beaten since 2012.
