Sun Valley defeats Porter Ridge in OT thriller

Sun Valley defeated Porter Ridge 42-41 in overtime and in so doing extends its current winning streak to five consecutive wins over rival Porter Ridge.

Junior quarterback Sam Howell led the Spartan offense with both his arm and his legs on Friday night. Howell completed 28-of-40 passes for 347 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 200-yards and four scores. 

Grayson McCall, the junior QB for Porter Ridge, played one of his best high school games in defeat playing primarily with one hand.

Wearing a full support brace extending from his wrist to forearm of his non-throwing hand, McCall rushed for 184 yards and four touchdowns while throwing for 100 yards and one TD.

Sun Valley senior Kendall Anderson led all receivers with 11 catches for 146 yards.

Porter Ridge falls to 2-2 on the season and heading into their bye week. 

Sun Valley remains unbeaten at 3-0 and will host Olympic next week.
